About Dr. Nse Nkereuwem Ukpong

Born 30th September, 1961 in Ikot Offiok Nsit, in Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. She is a lecturer in the Department of Educational Management, Faculty of Education, University of Calabar. Her educational qualifications include B.A Hons Ed (1985) M. Ed. (2004) and Ph.D (2007) at the University of Calabar. She had progressed from Lecturer II on 1st December, 2010 to the Present position of a Senior Lecturer (2017), with 30 Publications (five (5) book chapters, 24 research papers published in many reputable National and International Journals. Other academic responsibilities performed creditably include teaching of Departmental and Faculty Courses at the undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. She had also supervised Students project at the undergraduate as well as M. Ed & Ph.D levels. She has successfully supervised (2) two Ph.D Thesis as second Supervisor and 3 M.Ed Theses as sole supervisor. Dr. N. N. Ukpong is a member of TETFUND Institution Based Research (IBR) group for 2018 grand proposal. She had supervised Students on Teaching Practice and Advanced Practicum in Educational Management. She is a member of many learned bodies/ societies such as: Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP), Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management, Registered teacher (AK/S/00599) with Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria and Member Faculty & Departmental Academic / Graduate Boards of the University of Calabar. As active/ committed member of staff in the Department and Faculty the following responsibilities were successfully carried out as follows: Secretary to Department Graduate Board 2016 2018, Exam officer (CES, Direct Entry) 2013 till date, Acting HOD 25th – 27th June, 2019, Sub–Sandwich exam officer 2017 till date,- Member of Department Student Handbook Committee 2014, Member of Faculty News Bulletin Committee 2017, Member of Departmental Staff Welfare Committee 2015, Secretary Departmental Book Writing Committee 2014, Member of Exam Results Task Force Committee 2011, Member of Departmental Quality Assurance Committee 2015 and Secretary Postgraduate Programme Handbooks Writing Committee 2016. In terms of community service, she was appointed a monitoring Officer for NECO, 2015 June July- Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), She was appointed women Leader – Club 5 – Ikot Ekan, Etinan LGA (1990 – 2008), She was appointed President Women Fellowship (2012 – 2014 Sanctified Mount Zion Church – Ikot Eka Edem Assembly Calabar. Socially, she is married to Eld/Chief N. E. Ukpong and blessed with 3 children, and 2 grand children. and currently a decaconess in Sanctified Mount Zion Church of Nigeria.
