About Prof. Nonso Ngozika Bisong

Nonso Ngozika Bisong is a professor of Educational psychology, in the Department of Educational Foundations of the Faculty of Education, University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria. She started her academic career in 1990, and rose through to the rank of a Professor in 2005. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education, from the university of Calabar, a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counselling from the University of PortHarcourt, a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Psychology, all from the University of Calabar, Calabar. She teaches Educational Psychology courses to undergraduate and graduate students. She has supervised several undergraduate and graduate theses in the department. She has also held several responsibilities and served in different capacities as Head of Department of Educational Technology, representative of Faculty of Education at Senate, Member of theses vetting committee of Graduate school, Member of the Faculty of Education teaching practice committee, Chairperson of the Faculty of Education conference, seminar and workshop committee, Graduate school representative in oral defence and an external examiner just to mention a few. She also has experience working with International Development Agencies like the World Bank and UNICEF at different times as team consultant and resource person. She possesses community engagement skills, utilizing focus group discussions (FGD) and social survey skills to study out of school children, women in environment and community development issues. She also has strong observational and counselling skills. She has attended several international and local conferences, and has published widely in educational psychology and gender issues. She belongs to some learned societies, notably, the Nigerian Society for Educational Psychologist and she is a key note presenter in academic and professional conferences.
