About Mr. Etete Gregory Mbey

Mbey, E. Gregory is a Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies, University of Calabar, Calabar. He holds a Bachelors egree in French (B. A. Hons, French Major, 2008), from the University of Calabar and a Masters Degree in Translation (M.A. Translation, 2015), from the same Institution. He is currently a Ph.D student in the same Department where he is undertaking a research work in French in International Relations. He was a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of French, Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa from January 2011 - December 2011, from January 2012; he became a Full Time Lecturer in the same institution where he served until 2016. He later moved to the University of Calabar, where he is currently serving since 2016. Mbey has attended numerous conferences and have presented conferences papers in some of these conferences. He has undergone pedagogic training/ seminars at the Centre for French Teaching and Documentation, a programme organized by the Enugu State Ministry of Education in collaboration with the French Embassy in Nigeria. He was a participant at the 2nd Lagos Summer School in Digital Humanities (LSSDH-2018), and has also taken part in seminar training for Post Graduate Students organized by the University French Teachers Association of Nigeria (UFTAN). Mbey has served as a Facilitator/Resource Person in several Train the Trainer workshops organized by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) as well as Educational Standard Revival Initiative (EDUSTAR), an NGO promoting reading culture in primary schools in Cross River State. Mbey has written several articles in French, some of these articles have been published in both local and international journals. He also has seven Book Chapters in French text books used in the CRS College of Education, Akamkpa . He has held several positions during these periods which include: Examination Officer, Time Table Officer and membership of different committees.
