Barr (Chief) Johnson Ebokpo was engaged (on Contract) as an Academic Staff member into the Institute of Public Policy and Administration, University of Calabar in late 2017 as Research Fellow II. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Sociology/Anthropology from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN (1978). He is also a LL.B degree holder from the University of Calabar (1986). He was called to the Bar in 1987 and enrolled in the Supreme Court of Nigeria as Barrister-at-Law and Solicitor. In the course of over three decades of an unblemished career, Barr. Ebokpo gathered an extensive Civil/Public Service Administrative/Governance experience and diverse exposure in Legal Practice and Human Capital Consulting. He is an accomplished Administrator, Legal Practitioner, Speech Writer and Public Speaker. He has attended several professional and work-related conferences, seminars and workshops in the course of which he has important work-related topical presentations to his credit. He disengaged/retired from the Public Service of Cross River State in 2017 as Secretary to the State Government/Head of Civil Service. His Public Service engagements notwithstanding, Barr Ebokpo has over the years remained close to the Academic Constituency in the course of which he has Supervised more than ten students. Having been granted a waiver as account was taken of his very rich Public Service experience, he is currently enrolled in a Doctorate at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, for the Award of the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Corporate Law. He holds Fellowship and Membership of several Professional Associations and Institutions including Member, Nigerian Bar Association; Member, International Bar Association (Section on Business Law); Member, Nigerian Institute of Management; Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administrators; Member, Intellectual Property Law Association of Nigeria; Member Professional Speech Writers Association, USA, among others.
