About Dr. Ihuoma Chikulirim Eke

Ihuoma Chikulirim Eke is a Lecturer in Economics at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Calabar, Calabar. She attended Town School, Itu in Ezinihitte-Mbaise Local Government Area, Imo state for her primary education and graduated in 1988. Thereafter, she proceeded to Dora Nwankiti Girls Juniorate, Inyishi, Imo State in 1989, and completed her studies in 1994. She obtained the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) with a Second Class, Upper Division degree in Economics at the University of Calabar in 2002; and thereafter bagged a Master of Science (M.Sc) from the same University in 2014. She is currently a Ph. D holder in the same University. She has served the University in different capacities including as Time Table Officer in the Department of Economics, 2015-2018. Prior to joining the services of the University of Calabar, she worked as a Teacher in the Cross River State Secondary Education Board (2008-2013), Supervisor (Ad hoc Staff), Mid-term Evaluation of Africare Malaria Project, Institute of Tropical Disease Research and Prevention, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (2007) and as Mathematics Teacher (National Youth Service Corpse) in Community Secondary School, Rumukwurushi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State (2003-2004). She is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society and has continued to pursue her interest in Mathematics, Industrial Economics and the nexus between Innovation and Firm Performance, Quantitative methods and Econometrics which culminated in a book she co-authored in the area of Mathematics for Economists in 2018. She has peered reviewed local and international publications to her credit. She is married with children.
