EmailIdongesit Efaemiode Eteng nee Idongesit Fidelis Essien is a lecturer in Computer Science Department, University of Calabar, Nigeria, where she has taught since 2006. Prior to that, she worked for the same University as a programmer/ System’s Analyst. She earned her PhD from the renowned University of Ibadan in 2013. Dr (Mrs) Eteng has supervised various research projects for both undergraduate and graduate students. She has also published several articles in both local and international journals. Her areas of interest are Software Engineering, Distributed Databases, Internet Computing/Security, Optimization and formal modelling of complex systems. She is a member of Computer professionals of Nigeria (CPN), Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and IEEE. Her research work has taken her to a number of places including Ghana, Scotland, London the Unites of America etc. where she has collaborated with scholars in computing and other related fields. She has pioneered the development of some computer applications including expert systems for ebola diagnosis, a collaboration tool for collaborative research in the University, an algorithm for optimizing composed web services and a Multilayer Secure Messaging Protocol for REST-based Services. Dr (Mrs) Eteng lives in Calabar, Nigeria with her husband Pastor Efaemiode Eteng and children. She enjoys writing poems and short stories/books for children. She is also a public speaker and has co-authored a few books with her colleagues at the University of Calabar.
