About Mr. Ika Edim Kadimo Oqua

Ika Edim Kadimo Oqua, also known as uncleKady, was employed in the University of Calabar on August 2003. He has held the Secretary and Chairmanship positions of many committees in his department till date. Kady holds an OND in Mass communications from the Polytechnic, Calabar (1988). He also holds BA (Hons) in Theatre Arts (1994); MA in Arts Administration (2003), all from the Theatre and Media Studies Department, University of Calabar, Calabar. He is currently awaiting a PhD in Directing Stage and Media from the Department of Theatre, Film and Carnival Studies where he teaches Directing and Film related courses. He has attended more than nine conferences and workshops and presented papers in three. Kadimo Oqua also belongs to professional bodies in the Nigerian Movie Industry, Nollywood. From 2002-2004, he was the pioneer Chairman, Cross River State chapter of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN). He also belongs to the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP), the Society of Nigerian Theatre Arts (SONTA) and currently, member, Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN). Kady has published many journals in theatre and drama, acting, anthropology and in multimedia, his research favourite.
