About Dr. Frank Mbeh Attah

Dr Frank Mbeh Attah got employed into the services of the University of Calabar on the 1st of August 2006 as an Assistant Lecturer and posted to the now defunct Department of Educational Technology under the Institute of Education, and was later moved to the Department of Sociology following the resolution of the senate of the University of Calabar in November 2007, where I am till date. Dr. Attah, hold a National Certificate in Education NCE, in Business Education (Accounting option) from University of Ahmadu Bello Institute of Education Bauchi State, A B.Edin Elementary Education University of Calabar, M.Ed Sociology of Education, University of Calabar and offcourse a Ph.d in Development Sociology University of Calabar all between 1988-2010. Dr Attah just recently attracted a Tetfund grant above 2 million for an ongoing research on Effect of the Re-emergence of Militancy on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in the Niger Delta Region. Dr. Attah hold awards for philanthropic works and dedication to the teaching profession mainly from student body, he is also a marriage and career counselor as well as an eloquent motivational speaker in several fora. Dr. Attah is a substantive lecturer in the Department of Sociology, an adjunct lecturer at the University of Science and Technology (CRUTECH) and a part time lecturer in the Department of Educational Foundation University of Calabar. Apart from undergraduate supervision, Dr. Attah has several post graduate supervisee’s under his guidance with an average of at least 8 who have successfully defended their theses. Dr. Attah has a couple of conferences and peer review work to his credit, also a member of professional associations, which are sociology related and a member of the international research and development network. Dr. Attah has over 28 publications on various perspectives of academic interest woven around human resource development strategies with particular interest in the bottom to top social engineering approach as a matter of primary interest and more spread across reputable local and international journals as well as reading monograph in social change and Sociology of Education. Dr. Attah is a socialite and service oriented personality, presently the chairman of faculty of social sciences welfare scheme and speaker of the same faculty association whose goal is to enthrone good leadership and enhance scholarship among members. Dr. Attah is a patriot of justice and fair play and a committed academic.
