About Dr. Favour Bette Patrick Abang

Dr. Favour Bette Patrick Abang transferred services from the University of Agriculture, Makurdi to the University of Calabar as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal Science in 2021, after nine years of meritorious services. She joined services of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi in 2012 as Lecturer II and was promoted to the rank of Senior Lecturer in 2018. She holds a B.Agric(Animal Sciences) degree that was awarded to her by the University of Calabar in 2000. The same university awarded her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Animal Production in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Her main area of research is Animal Production. Dr (Mrs) Abang has been teaching, mentoring, and researching since joining the university. She has successfully supervised and co-supervised over ten graduate students. She has authored and co-authored over thirty-five articles in both local and international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Abang is a regular participant in many local and foreign conferences, workshops, seminars, and symposia, where she made presentations and other useful contributions. She is a member of many professional bodies including the Animal Science Association of Nigeria, Nigerian Society for Animal Production, Nigerian Institute of Animal Science, and a Registered Animal Scientist. Dr. Abang has conducted several researches including the use of non-conventional energy feed resources in non-ruminants and phytogenic feed additives. She is a beneficiary of the STEP B Grant in 2010 and IBR Grant in 2019. She is happily married.
