About Dr. Emmanuel Ekpo Archibong

Dr. Archibong, Emmanuel Ekpo stated his working career in 1990 with the Government of Cross River State as a teacher at the famous and prestigious Hope Waddell Training Institution, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. In 2002, he was transferred to Government Secondary School Anantigha in Calabar South. He was later posted to Cross River State Ministry of Education as an Inspector of Schools in 2008, where he worked as Inspector of Education in Akpabuyo and Bakassi Local Government Education Authorities. In 2011, he was promoted to the rank of a Deputy Director (Administration) and posted to the Calabar Zonal Supervisory Directorate of the Ministry of Education. In 2015, he was transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Calabar where he served as a Deputy Director in the Veterinary Laboratory Science Unit, Department of Veterinary Services. He was later promoted to the position of a Director of Veterinary Laboratory Services in the same Ministry. In 2017, Dr. Archibong transferred his services to the University of Calabar, Calabar as a lecturer in the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management. Dr. Archibong, Emmanuel E. stated his Education at Sacred Heart Primary School, Egerton Street, Calabar and later St. Mary’s Primary School, Efut Abua, Calabar South in Cross River State, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1981. In 1987, he obtained his West African School Certificate from the School of Arts and Science, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State before proceeded to the Polytechnic Calabar where he bagged his National Diploma (ND) in Animal Production. He is a holder of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Production Technology from Michael Okpara College of Agriculture, Umuaghwo-Ohaji Owerri, Imo State, in 1992. In quest for more knowledge in his chosen profession, he proceeded to the University of Calabar, Calabar-Nigeria between 1994-2013, where he bagged his Post Graduate Diploma in Fisheries and Aquaculture in 1996; Masters of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in Animal Science in 2007 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) Degree in Animal Nutrition and Biochemistry in 2013 respectively. The distinguished scholar received a number of fellowships/awards which include the following: 1. Award of scholarship by Cross River State Government for Master of Science (M. Sc.) Degree in Animal Science (2005-2006). 2. Award of scholarship by Cross River State Government for Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Production Technology (1990-1992). 3. Award of Scholarship by Esop Ndito Effiom Ekpo, Calabar (A non- governmental Organization) for National Diploma (ND) in Animal Production (1987-1989). 4. Award of Scholarship by Esop Mkparawa, Calabar (A non-governmental Organization for West African School Certificate (1981-1984). He has carried out a number of Academic Research, attended Conferences and supervised Student’s Projects within Nigeria. He is a member of the following professional bodies: 1. Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) 2. Animal Science Association of Nigeria (ASAN) 3. Nigerian Society of Animal Production (NSAP) He is a widely read scholar and has a number of publications in both International and Local journals as well as edited published conference proceedings.
