About Dr. Ayuk Atim Nchor

Dr. Ayuk Atim Nchor is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management, University of Calabar. He is a professional in Protected Area Management with interest in Wildlife Ecology and Management. He is Experienced in Wildlife/Protected Area Management, with considerable exposure in Natural Resources Management and governance, Rural Development Initiatives and Alternative livelihood, he has a good background studies/research in Applied Wildlife Ecology and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Protected Area Management Plans specifically Dr. Nchor has sound skills in teaching and learning, very strong in research as well as project design and management as well as outstanding experience in the management of National Parks and other protected areas, he has great potentials in coordinating and managing projects to meet targets/budget limits with special skills for independence/team work, he is also capable of working in cross-cultural environment with outstanding experience in Environmental Impact Assessment. Before joining the University of Calabar, Dr. Nchor has worked as a project manager in an international donor wildlife funded project including the EU/WWF funded Cross River National Park Okwangwo Project in Cross River National Park Akamkpa Cross River State, Under the Federal Ministry of Environment for 5 years (1997-2002). He has held the following positions since he joined the University of Calabar: Head of Department: Department of Forestry AND Wildlife Resources Management, University of Calabar, Calabar 2012-2013, Seminar Coordinator: Department of Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management Seminar Series (2006-2010), Examination Officer: Department of Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management (2006-2007, 2011-2012), Faculty Representative: Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research (2012-Date), Departmental Staff Advicer: Staff Advicer for Year 2 Students Department of Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management (2005-Date). He has the following Distinctions and Awards: Award of Study Fellowship Postgraduate Programme (Ph.D) University of Ibadan, Nigeria (2007-2010) COMPLETED. TETFUND Sponsorship to undertake International Conference on Sustainable Development and Governance: Building Commerce and Communities in Amrita University, Coimbatore, India. (2010) ATTENDED AND PRESENTED A PAPER. Sponsorship at TETFUND to undertake research in the current status of Biodiversity Conservation and Management in Oban Division of Cross River National Park (2015) PROJECT COMPLETED.
