About Dr. Anthonia Asanye Ikpeme

Dr Anthonia Asanye Ikpeme was employed on the 28th day of February, 2010 as Lecturer I in the Department of Radiology. She was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology in 2016. Dr Ikpeme is a Chief Consultant in the Department of Radiology. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees in 1999 from the University of Calabar. She also obtained her Post Graduate Fellowship in Radiology from the West African College of Surgeons-Radiology in 2008. Her main areas of specialization are Neuro-radiology, International Pain Management and Breast Imaging. Dr Ikpeme has been teaching, researching, consulting and mentoring students and staff in the University thereby contributing to its growth. Dr Ikpeme has successfully supervised and co-supervised many graduate students (resident doctors) in Radiology. She has authored many articles in both local and international peer reviewed journals. Dr Ikpeme has made several oral and poster presentations in both local and International conferences in her field of study. She has been serving many local and foreign journals as reviewer. She was the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the International Pain Management Conference of July, 2019 that was held in the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Dr Ikpeme has served the University in other capacities including having served as Acting Head of Department and member of University of Calabar Senate between 2012 and 2014, She is a member of many professional associations including Nigerian Medical Association, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Medical Women Association of Nigeria, Radiological Society of Northern America and Association of Radiologists in Nigeria. She is happily married and the married is blessed with children.
