About Dr. Aniefiok Effiong Uko

Aniefiok Effiong Uko was appointed a Graduate Assistant in 1995 and rose to the rank of an Associate Professor of the Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture University of Calabar in 2015. He obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture (Crop Science) in 1989 and M.Sc. Degree in Agronomy (1997) from the University of Uyo as well as a Ph.D in Crop Production from the University of Calabar, Calabar. He has published 39 academic Papers in International, Local Journals and Conference Proceedings. He has served the Department of Crop Science as the Examination officer (1997 -2007), Head of Department (2012 -2014), Chairman, Departmental Graduate committee (2007 -2012). He also served as Faculty Representative, Faculty of Law, (2005 -2006) and currently senate Representative, Faculty of Agriculture. He is a member of Professional bodies including; Agricultural Society of Nigeria (ASN), Organic Agriculture project in Tertiary Institution (OAPTIN) and Crop Science Society of Nigeria. He has successfully supervised two PhD’s, two Master degrees and at the verge of completing supervision of two Master Degree students apart from being a reviewer for international Journal of Plant and Soil Science, International Journal of Development Research, Asian Research Journal of Agriculture and Asian Research Journal of Crop Science among others. He is married to Mrs. Aniekan A. Uko and is blessed with two children.
