About Dr. Akon Emmanuel Ndiok

Akon Emmanuel Ndiok is a Lecturer 1 in the Department of Nursing Science, Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, University of Calabar, Calabar. She holds a Ph.D. in Nursing from University of Kwa Zulu Natal, Durban, South Africa (2018), Masters in Medical/Surgical Nursing from University of Ibadan (2008), Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Bachelor of Nursing Science from University of Calabar (2004 and 1998 respectively), She is also a licenced Nurse/Midwife/Nurse Educator with Nursing and Midwifery council of Nigeria. She has served the Nursing council as Examiner and Chief Examiner for many years. She was a member of faculty Exam vetting committee (2011-2013). She served the Department of Nursing science as NYSC Mobilisation and registration officer for many years. She has been involved in teaching, research, learning and mentorship for over ten years. She has successfully supervised several undergraduate and graduate students to date. She has several publications in creditable Journals both National and International. She has attended several conferences, training workshops and capacity building seminars. Her area of Research interest is Palliative Care of Terminal Health conditions (mostly cancer care).
