Ms Akumjika Chikamma Michael joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2018 as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages. She holds B.A. degree in Igbo/Linguistics (2008) from Abia State University, Uturu and M.A. degree in Linguistics (Sociolinguistics) (2013) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. her main areas of research include sociolinguistics, pragmatics and applied linguistics and semantics. She has attended conferences where she presented papers. Ms Michael has published two papers in reputable local and international journals. She is a member of the Igbo Studies Association and Linguistic Association of Nigeria.
