About Mr. Benedict Ushaka Ugi

Dr. Benedict Ushaka Ugi hails from Cross River State, Nigeria. He began his Primary Education in 1982 at St. Patrick’s Primary School, Obudu, Cross River State where obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1988. He immediately proceeded to Government Secondary School, Obudu and acquired a Senior Secondary School Certficate in 1994. His interest in acquisition of knowledge and further studies lead him to the Colledge of Health Technology, Calabar where he obtained a National Certificate in Health Record Science, Vital & Bio-Statistics in 2000. He left for his University ediucation in 2001 and obatined a Bachellor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Applied Chemistry from the Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry, University of Calabar, Calabar – Nigeria in 2005. In 2007, he acquired a Post Graduate Diploma Certicate in Applied Chemistry from the same Department. In furtherance with his Post Graduate studies, he obatined a Master and Doctorate Degree in 2012 and 2015 respectively from the Department of Pure & Applied Chemistry, University of Calabar, Calabar – Nigeria. He has served as a Bio-statistician and Database Officer for the Department of Planning, Research & Statistics, Cross River State Ministry of Health from 2000 – 2015, Field Supervisor/Facilitator for a couple of International Donors within same period, Lecturer with the Cross River State University of Technology from 2015 – 2018. He has also served in a number of Committees in both Departmental and Faculty levels. He is a member of sone academic bodies including Chemical Society of Nigeria and has published in both National and International journals in the area of Corrosion Science and Electrochemistry.
