About Dr. Simon Kanong-Osowo Ajom

TPL, Dr. Simon K. Ajom, is a Registered and Practising Town Planner with the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria. He was employed into the Department of Physical Planning Unit, University of Calabar in 1998 as Higher Technical Officer (Town Planning). He has the following educational qualifications: HND, Town and Regional Planning the Polytechnic Calabar in 1995, BS.c, Environmental Education (Geography) University of Calabar in 2012, Post Graduate Diploma (PGD-URP) Urban and Regional Planning (NITP) Abuja 2002; Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) University of Calabar 2001, Master Business Administration (Executive) University of Calabar, 2004, M.Sc Urban Development Planning, University of Calabar 2011 and Ph.D in Urban Development Planning, University of Calabar 2017. He had accelerated promotion for hard work, campus beautification and cleanliness 2009, he had another accelerated promotion for excellent performance of duty in campus maintenance and physical planning. He had prize/award of recommendation during the 23rd University of Calabar Convocation ceremony. He rose to the rank of the director of Physical Planning Unit in 2016, were he imitated awarded, supervised and implemented several physical development project that brought tremendous change, transformation in the University. You have rendered several professional administrative and technical services to the University, humanity and the society. You have contributed to the building of human and material development. You belong to different learned societies including the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners and the Town Planners Registration Council, Nigeria Association of Town Planning Educators, College of fellows, Institute of corporate Administration. You are the Head of Department Urban and Regional Planning, University of Calabar, you are the Cross River State Representative of Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria. You are a consultant and practising Town Planner and lecturer in the Urban and Regional Planning Department. You love reading, designing, planning, travelling. You have contributed to Academic Ecosystem in publishing several journal articles, attended several conferences, workshops and seminars for capacity development and training.
