About Dr. Paschal Bisong Nyiam

Dr Paschal Bisong Nyiam began his academic sojourn at St. Ambrose Primary School, Agba-Osokom in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1984. He proceeded to the famous Government Secondary School, Ikom also in Cross River State where he sat for his Senior School Certificate Examination in 1991. He briefly attended Community Secondary School Nsadop, in Boki Local Government Area where he also sat and obtained his West African Examination Council (WAEC) Certificate in 1992. In 1994, he got admission into the University of Abuja where he obtained his B.Sc degree in Statistics with Second Class Upper Division (2:1). He proceeded to the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he obtained an M.Sc degree also in Statistics in 2009. In 2010, he joined the University of Calabar as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Statistics. His quest for knowledge took him to the United Kingdom in 2015, when he got TETFUND scholarship to study for a PhD degree in Operational Research at the University of Essex. He obtained his PhD in Operational Research in 2019 specializing in Multi-Objective Linear Programming (MOLP) and returned home same year. Dr Nyiam has attended several conferences both local and international and presented academic papers which are published in refereed journals. His research interest is in Operational Research specializing in Multi-Objective Linear Programming (MOLP); Multiple Criteria Decision Making, Applied MOLP, Metaheuristics, Heuristics, Plant Propagation Algorithm with Applications to MOLP, Exact & Approximate methods to MOLP, Algorithm design and implementation, Integer Linear programming, Non-linear programming, Queuing systems, Dynamic programming, Combinatorial optimisation, knapsack and Assignment problems, Duality & Post-optimality analysis. Dr Nyiam is an Associate Fellow, Institute for Operations Research of Nigeria (INFORN).
