About Dr. Benjamin Effiong Udoh

Dr Benjamin Udoh holds a B.Sc. degree in Radiography from University of Calabar (1998), M.Sc. degree in Medical Imaging and PhD degree in Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Ultrasound) obtained from University of Nigeria in 2008 and 2015 respectively. He has major research interest in Sonographic Anatomy and Musculoskeletal Sonography, and minor research interest in Effects of diabetes on selected body tissues, Effects of Ultrasound on living tissues, Assessment of fetal anatomy using ultrasound, improvement of imaging outcome in diagnostic imaging processes. He has worked in many clinical settings where he acquired a lot of clinical experiences and skills. He was the sonographer and Radiographer at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, Nigeria. Dr Udoh was a Consultant Sononorapher at Progress Clinic in Port Harcourt, Nigeria and many other hospitals. Dr Benjamin Udoh joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2012 as Lecturer 1 in the Department of radiography and radiological Sciences. He was promoted Senior Lecturer in 2015. Since joining the University, he has been teaching, mentoring and researching and contributed to the graduation of students in the University. He has successfully supervised and co-supervised over four graduate students in the University. He has published many articles in both international and local journal. He has attended many conferences, seminars, symposia, update courses and workshops where he presented papers. He was the Special Guest Lecturer for “World Radiography Day 2018’’ (Cross River State Chapter). Dr Udoh is presently a reviewer to the Journal of Association of Radiographers of Nigeria. He has served the University of Calabar in many positions including examinations officer (2014 to 2016), Department of Radiography and Radiological Sciences Quality Assurance Committee, Faculty Representative (Faculty of Allied Medical Science) to the Faculty of Education Academic Board, Chairman, Department of Radiography Post Graduate Committee and Senate Representative for Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences. He is a member of many professional associations including Association of Radiographers of Nigeria, Medical Imaging Society of Nigeria, New Society of Radiography Lecturers of Nigeria where he is serving as Vice President.
