The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Zana Akpagu has pledged to provide the needed support for Demonstration Primary School in the institution to improve learning. The Vice Chancellor made the pledge during an official visit to the school.
He stated that the reason for the visit is to know how the management, staff and pupils of the school are doing and to put in place what the school needs to enhance their learning.
Prof. Zana appreciated the fact that the steady growth of the Primary School are not without challenges but expressed high optimism that management would overcome.
The Vice Chancellor further encourages the management and staff of the school to put in more hard work to better the UNICAL Demonstration Primary School.
In his words, ” let us try and do the needful now so as to graduates the best Pupils that can and would eventually compete with their peers and make the school a better place. We must all work hard to bring out the best from our children because in a society like ours, diligent, commitment and passion to work is what we all need to bring positive changes to our environment and University of Calabar Demonstration Primary School is not an exception to this fact”.
Responding, the Head teacher of Demonstration Primary School, while thanking the Vice Chancellor for the warm and eventful visit said as a trained teacher, she is committed to the course of raising bright students.
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied on the visit by the DVC Admin. Prof. Udonwa, Registrar of the University Mr. Moses Abang, the University Bursar, Mrs. Beatrice Igwe, Chairman of the Governing Board, Prof. Edde Iji, Dean of Education, Prof. Chukwura, Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Bette Enu and the Dir. of Works, Engr. Oloh.
