Prof. Etete James Peters

Prof Etete Peters is an astute administrator, Academician, and physician born into a noble and very resourceful family in IkotEkpaw, MkpatEnin local government area of Akwa Ibom State on 7th September in 1962. He had his primary education at IkotOkoro primary school where he obtained his F.S.L.C in 1973. He then proceeded to ReginaCoeli College Essiene, and he passed his West African School Certificate in 1979. He then proceeded to the University of Calabar to study Medicine and Surgery in 1980. This distinguish alumnus bagged his MBBCh degree in 1986. He commenced his Residency training programme in Internal medicine at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar and was awarded the Fellowship of West African College of Physicians (FWACP) in 1997. He became the first Resident Doctor in Internal medicine to successfully complete his post graduate training as a physician at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital. He was elected Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians(FCCP) in 2012 and Fellow of the Royal College Physicians of Edinburgh in 2014 (FRCP). He was awarded MASHAV Fellowship Training Award by the Israeli Government in 2007 for sub specialty training in pulmonology at the University of Tel-Aviv Israel and obtained certificate in pulmonologyInfectious diseases
