Dr (mrs) Rose ohiama Ugbe hails from Okpoma in Yala Local Government Area and from Bebuawhan in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State by birth and marriage respectively. she attended Yala Secondary Commerical School in Yala LGA.After her WAEC she attende the famous Mary Knoll Higer school at Okuku, Yala LGA. As a result of her excellent performance at the Higer school, she proceeded to read Law through direct entry at University of Calabar in 1986. she graduted as the best female graduating student in the faculty of law in 1990 which earned her an award by Late Justice Edem Koofreh for the best female graduating student in faculty of law. in her further quest for knowledge she went to University of Jos where she banged LLM degree( Master of laws) in 2002. she holds ph.D Degree in law of University of jos. she joined the services of University of Calabar in 1995 as an assistant lectuer. she rose to the position of senior lecturer in 2011. she has published many articles in learned journals in and outside Nigeria. she is the first female and current Dean of faculty of law, University of Calabar. she was the first female head of department odf private and property law, faculty of law, University of Calabar. she is also the Deputy Director Entrepreneurship Development center, University of Calabar amongst other positions she has held in the University.
