Dr. Essien Ekpenyong Essien

  Dr. Essien Ekpenyong Essien joined as a staff of University of Calabar on 17th December, 2013 as a Lecturer 1.  He holds’ (N.C.E.) in History/Social Studies, Bachelor of Art in Education  (B.A.Ed), Master’s Degree in Education Social Studies (M.Ed) , Doctor of Philosophy in Social Studies Education (Ph.D) He is a member of Social Studies Association of Nigeria (SOSAN), Social Studies and Civic Educators Association of Nigeria (SOCEAN) Curriculum Organization of  Nigeria (CON) European Centre for Resarch Training and Development, United Kingdom and Teacher’s Registration Council of Nigeria. Member, Transparency Committee, Faculty of Education 2015 – 2017.  Member, Cross River State Advisory Committee on National Civic Registration 2003 – 2005.  Supervisor for Education Biase Local Government Area.  2004  -  2007 Secretary Biase Local Government Transition Management Committee 2014.  Secretary Committee for the design of CES Programme for the department of Social Science Education 2015.  Examination Officer 20015 – 2017.  Ag. Head of Department Social Science Education 2017 – till date.  He has attended many Seminars and Conferences locally and presented papers.  He has published in International and Local Journals and book chapters.  From the wealth of  his experience he has mentored many undergraduate and graduate students.
