In the same spirit, I also welcome all students and all prospective students to programmes in our dear Faculty, where experts are bred, professionals are trained and scholars are groomed. I hereby convey my best wishes for a very successful stay on campus for every one of you.

You are indeed privileged to be trained by teachers and instructors who combine intellectual ability, experience and commitment to bare at dispensing of knowledge and professional skills to the student-learner. I believe that through your hard work and God’s benevolence that you will overcome the rigorous hurdles of being admitted into any of our programmes.
The Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences has four Departments namely: Department of Medical Laboratory Science; Department of Nursing Science; Department of Public Health; and Department of Radiography & Radiological Science. The Faculty also has the following programmes: Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science programme (BMLS); Bachelor of Nursing Science programme (B.NSc); Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme (B.PT); Bachelor of Science in Public Health programme (B.Sc.); and Bachelor of Radiography & Radiological Science programme (B.Rad.). Postgraduate programmes are also offered in the following Departments: Medical Laboratory Science (having sub-specialty areas like Chemical Pathology, Haematology & Blood Group Serology, Histopathology, Medical Microbiology/Parasitology), Nursing Science, Public Health and Radiography & Radiological Science. It is committed to inter-departmental research collaborations leading to professionalism that will broaden the intellectual horizon of our beloved student-learners. The Management of University of Calabar is keened to ensuring the maintenance of peace and tranquility that has improved the teaching and learning environment in the University. Efforts of the Faculty is geared towards the growth of the Faculty as well as the University.
We hope that the renewed academic excellence and teamwork by all stakeholders in the Faculty will be maintained. Once again, I welcome every viewer and prospective students and wish you all to a successful and rewarding experience!
